Ai Weiwei Curates Controversial Underground Show

Ai Weiwei curated “Portraits,” an exhibition of the works of brothers Gao Qiang and Gao Zhen in Beijing. As their works are often controversial (pieces from a previous show featured Mao Zedong figurines pointing rifles at Jesus), “Portraits” was held in an underground fashion, with limited access only to those in the Gao’s trusted circle.
